Anthony B. Beatrice, Director 

 

Anthony Beatrice is in his 15th season as Director of the Merrimack Valley Concert Band. A native of Groveland, Massachusetts, he first joined the band in seventh grade under the direction of Karen Mundo and performed with the ensemble until leaving for college to pursue a degree in music education.

Anthony currently serves as President of the Massachusetts Music Educators Association and is a member of the Advocacy Committee for Arts|Learning Massachusetts. Previously, he spent seven years as the Executive Director for the Arts for Boston Public Schools and now holds the role of Deputy Chief of Teaching and Learning. Prior to his time in Boston, he spent a decade as a music teacher in both the Lowell Public Schools and the Pentucket Regional School District.

He earned both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Music Education from the University of Massachusetts Lowell. In addition to his work in K-12 education, Anthony has served as music adjunct faculty member at Merrimack College, Northern Essex Community College, and UMass Lowell.
