Anthony B. Beatrice, Director 

 

Anthony Beatrice began conducting the Merrimack Valley Concert Band in 2010, having previously performed with the ensemble as a percussionist. He is the Immediate Past-President of the Massachusetts Music Educators Association and currently serves as the Deputy Chief of Teaching & Learning for the Boston Public Schools, where he previously led the district’s arts education department as Executive Director for the Arts. Before moving into administration, he spent nine years as a music educator in the Pentucket Regional School District and the Lowell Public Schools. He earned both his undergraduate and graduate degrees in music education from the University of Massachusetts Lowell. Anthony also serves on the Executive Board of Arts|Learning Massachusetts and helped author the proposed Lowell Mason Arts Education Equity Act, now moving through the state legislative process.
